The local municipal water companies provide us with water after having undergone the necessary pre-treatment on their own facilities. Then, it is channeled to the public grid chlorinated to comply with legal requirements for the quality of water for human consumption.

Finally, the water that we all have available for consumption in our homes remains loaded with solids (soil, mud, rust, heavy metals) suspended or insoluble in it and with residual chlorine whose presence is due on the one hand to the quality and construction material of the distribution network and on the other hand to the chlorination process that exists to maintain its microbial purity.

It is therefore necessary for the domestic water at the place of consumption to be finally filtered to remove the suspended solids and to be dechlorinated to remove chlorine, metals and to correct the smell and taste.
